History

The school began in Padrauna, Kushinagar by opening an English medium school in 1986. Fr John Vianney took initiative to find out a place to begin the new school.

The CMC sisters came to the station in the same year and started staying in a rented house. Fr Augustine Thekkel CST, was the first Priest- In-charge. The school built in a workshop in Subhash Chowk, Padrauna was blessed in 1988. Another plot of land was purchased in Bharwalia village and the new school built in Bharwalia was inaugurated in 1991. Junior and Senior section of the school shifted to the New Campus, Pandey Deoria Road, Padrauna later in 2017.

Many fathers and sisters have rendered their services as principal in this school during the span of 1986 till present. Sr. Modesta CMC was the first principal and later Sr. Rosella CMC, Sr. Neera CMC, Sr. Deepa CMC, Sr. Anjali CMC, Fr. Benny Koikkakudy, Fr. Joshy Vettickal, Fr. Abraham Kolamkuzhy, Fr. John Joseph, Fr. Joseph Kottukapally, Fr. Rinso Vadakkal, Fr. Tobin Baby (Principal at present) continued their services.

St. Therese’s School, Padrauna is a Christian minority education institution established in 1986, administered and governed by the Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur Education Society, registered under the Society’s Registration Act. The school is under the religious jurisdiction of the Catholic Bishop of Gorakhpur.

St. Therese’s School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The school was affiliated to ICSE in the year 2000 and ISC in the year 2003.
